1) Slow Roast Lamb
Who doesn’t enjoy a traditional roast? In particular, a slow-roasted leg of lamb. This dish requires cooking a leg of lamb in the oven for a few hours. After roasting, the meat will be so tender, you should carve it using a spoon as the meat will just fall from the bone. To complete this dish, serve with roasted vegetables, homemade gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, potatoes au gratin or salad.
2) Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Drumsticks
We have all heard of the hype around air fryers. If you happen to have one, try cooking air fryer BBQ chicken drumsticks. All you need to do is season some chicken drumsticks with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Next, cook in the air fryer for around 15 minutes. Don’t forget to flip halfway through. Then baste the chicken drumsticks in BBQ sauce and cook for a further 5 to 10 minutes. To finish, serve with your favourite side dishes such as rice, homemade fries, corn on the cob, coleslaw, or potato salad. Feel free to add more BBQ sauce if you wish.
3) Chilli Con Carne
Mince beef can be used for any dish such as spaghetti Bolognese, meatballs, and lasagne. However, if you want to change it up, add chilli powder, onion, peppers, tomatoes and kidney beans to make chilli con carne. A portion of lean minced beef is needed to make it. This dish is perfect for sharing and large families. Serve it on a bed of boiled rice or place the mixture in a tortilla wrap with lettuce and cheddar cheese to form burritos. If you have leftovers, they can be reheated for tomorrow’s lunch or dinner.
4) Toad In The Hole
Toad in the Hole is one of those traditional comforting dishes. It contains pork chipolata sausages cooked in a Yorkshire pudding batter, usually served with mashed potatoes, greens or baked beans and onion gravy. Like chilli con carne, this dish is also freezable and reheatable to enjoy again.
