REQUIRED – Candidates for a Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in ‘Abattoir Worker (Red Meat)’

All ages are welcome to apply, it is never too late to retrain in one of the oldest known professions. As an apprentice, you will be guided through all aspects of the wholesale meat industry. The course will include some off-the-job training as well as learn as you go meaning there are many fantastic opportunities to keep improving and learning.

Throughout the course, the successful candidate will become a licensed slaughter person, an expert in animal welfare and be instilled with sufficient skills to dress multi-species carcasses to a high standard. You will gain this, along with all of the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to successfully pass the ‘End Point Assessment’ and become a fully qualified slaughter person.

Hours and rates of pay to be negotiated.

REQUIRED – Candidates for a Level 2 Butchery Apprenticeship Standard

The apprenticeship will include full training in both the practical and theory aspects of modern-day butchery with mainly hands on, but also some off-the-job training. This along with all of the required knowledge, skills and behaviours to successfully pass the ‘End Point Assessment’ and become a fully qualified butcher. All ages will be considered to learn this sought-after skill set.
